This polishing pad is a medium foam (orange in colour) and the foam is ventilated with a snake design.

Compounding Pad, 150mm x25mm, Ventilated, Hook & Loop. The ventilation enables the pad to be used flat onto the polished surface rather than at an angle because the vents prevent the polish or compound from spraying out the side of the pad.

Using an non ventilated pad usually means the user uses it at an angle to prevent the polish and compound from spraying out and making a mess and waste. When the pad it used flat it greatly increases the working life of the pad.

The pad will also runner cooler than standard pads, so eliminating the risk of overheating the polished surface.
